Summary
This was one of my very first papers. Working alongside Joan Murphy (now an MD) and Dr. Marc Greenblatt, we built a database integrating genetic variants with evolutionary, structural, functional, and clinical data for CDKN2A (p16) — a key tumor suppressor gene. The actual online database is no longer available unfortunately.
In this work I contributed with all the programming (at that time it was in Perl, Php and maybe some C++), database development, and bioinformatic analysis, and also continually collaborated with Joan and Marc, it was a pleasure to work with them and a great introduction to multidisciplinary scientific collaboration.
